Man hospitalised after ‘fight’ in High Road Leytonstone

Police were called to reports of a fight at Harrow Green near the junction with Cathall Road at around 10.30pm yesterday (27th April)

A man in his 30s was rushed to a major trauma centre following reports of a fight in High Road Leytonstone last night (27th April).

Police were called to the incident, in Harrow Green near the junction between High Road Leytonstone and Cathall Road, at around 10.30pm.

The immediate area was closed to traffic at 11.20pm to allow police to conduct their enquiries and affected roads were reopened at 3.24am today (28th April).

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said a man in his 30s self-presented to hospital last night. Upon his arrival, the ambulance service was called to take him to major trauma centre.

The Echo understands his injuries were not deemed life-threatening. No arrests have yet been made and police enquiries remain ongoing.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 11.06pm yesterday (27 April) to Cathall Road, Leytonstone.

“We sent an ambulance crew and an incident response officer to the scene. We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance. The first paramedic arrived in less than five minutes but the patient had left the scene.

“We were then called at 11.18pm to take the same patient from a local hospital to a major trauma centre.”
