Turtle Bay’s Walthamstow restaurant will close on Saturday (27th June) as part of a national restructuring that will see the Caribbean‑themed chain shut two other sites across the UK.

The company said the decision follows rising operating costs and a shift in customer spending, with other underperforming branches in Solihull and Middlesbrough now set to close.

Turtle Bay also highlighted increases in food, energy, business rates, employment and recycling costs, alongside continued pressure on consumer confidence.

Staff at the Hoe Street restaurant, which opened in 2014, were informed of the plans earlier this week. Turtle Bay said it hopes to redeploy as many employees as possible to nearby branches. There are around 50 Turtle Bay branches in the UK.
