This year’s free and colourful edition is happening at Fellowship Square outside the Town Hall from 3 pm to 8 pm, writes Rana Rastegari
This year’s edition of Waltham Forest Pride will be happening at Fellowship Square outside the Town Hall from 3 pm to 8 pm.
Visitors can expect the square to be filled with stalls set up by local LGBTQIA+ community members, offering information, activities and food and drinks.
There will also be performances starting at 5 pm including Bollyqueer dancers, Mayumi Fukiko, Sound Manifesto, Luspinda Hoops, Tim Tation Manny, and Clare Summerskill. Live music will end with the Electric Landladies, a motley crew of six landladies who sing pop classics, tamla, soul, funk and disco.
Speeches are taking place alongside the performances, which will also all be signed.
From 3-5 pm there will also be activities such as a hoola hoop workshop for children.
This is a free event but is ticketed. Wristbands will be given on entry so that it is possible to leave and re-enter. No entry is allowed without a ticket.
For those coming by car, blue badge holders are permitted to park in resident bays in local streets and there is limited parking available on site for blue badge holders.
Tickets can be booked here
