Lively and affordable play The Pirate Bookshop will drop anchor at The Forest Community Centre on 10th August
A priate comedy play coming to Highams Park is promising belly laughs for the entire family.
The Pajoda Theatre Company is bringing The Pirate Bookshop, referred to as a “lively and affordable theatre experience” with hearty laughs, edible pirate gold, and unforgettable fun for the whole family.
The play tells of Zee, a young woman trying to save her beloved bookshop despite rising bills, falling customers, and an infestation of pirates.
Inherited from her eccentric Aunt Delilah, the pirates fumbling efforts to save the bookshop just seem to make things worse, leading to a “hilarious and heart-warming adventure”.
Producer, Paul Robinson, says: “The Pirate Bookshop is a light-hearted play for children and their families. We wanted to create a tale that combines humour, adventure and a touch of whimsy. Our hero, Zee, and her motley crew of pirates bring a unique charm to the stage that we believe will delight audiences of all ages.”
Tickets for The Pirate Bookshop are priced between £7 and £14, depending on the venue.
Paul adds: “Gather your crew, don your best pirate attire, and join us for an unforgettable experience. Book early to avoid walking the plank of disappointment!
“We’d like everybody to come along and bring their young pirates with them. There will be a prize for the best costume and a chance to win some fantastic children’s books. It’s all hands on deck for an unforgettable pirate escapade that will have you and your family swashbuckling with joy!”
Showtimes are from 2.30pm to 5.30pm and tickets are available here
