The annual Open House Festival kicked off on the 6th of September. Running until 17th September, residents and visitors to Waltham Forest will be able to attend walking tours, open days at iconic buildings, creative performances and discussions.

The free festival will see various buildings in the borough that are usually closed to the public open themselves up for the first time. They include Leytonstone’s Good Shepherd Studios, where visitors will get the chance to see the studio “behind the scenes” and join workshops run by artists and makers.

The Host of Leyton will open 12th-17th September to welcome visitors to see the shop & space and view the work of our special Pop-up exhibition by young artist and landscape designer Dan Lee. Waltham Forest Town Hall will also throw open its doors for guided walking tours around the foyer, civic suites, and council chamber. And a walking history tour around Walthamstow will show how the area grew from a village into a thriving suburb and tell all about its social history and famous figures like William Morris.
