A young man who was stabbed to death in Leyton last week has been named as 24-year-old Suhayb Abdulkadir.

Two men charged with Suhayb’s murder are due to appear at Thames Magistrates Court today (27th April). They are Abdullahi Abdi, 24, of Lincoln Street, Leytonstone, and Hanet Ahmed, 25.

At around 12.40am on Thursday, 23 April, police were called to Saint George’s Road following reports of an altercation between a group of people.

Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service and found Suhayb, who was treated for stab injuries. Despite the efforts of paramedics, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Four men were arrested that evening on suspicion of murder. One man has been bailed, another released under investigation, and the remaining two were charged as above.

In a statement shared by the Metropolitan Police, Suhayb’s family said: “[He] lit up every room he entered and put a smile on the faces of even those who did not know him.

“He was an amazing uncle to his niece, honourable brother to his siblings and dutiful son to his mother.

“Although his death has been devastating, it has been heart-warming to hear the many stories from people from all walks of life sharing the massive impact he has had on them.

“His presence, warmth and kindness will never be forgotten and he has left an everlasting impact on all of those who were fortunate to know him.

“We love you immensely, Suhayb, more than you know, and we cannot wait for you to be reunited with your brother.”
