Police have arrested two men in their 30s on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm following an incident in the early hours of Sunday (1st February), reports Marco Marcelline

Two men have been hospitalised with stab injuries following a disturbance that began inside a Chingford Mount bar in the early hours of Sunday (1st February).
The Metropolitan Police were called to Hall Lane at around 4.48am yesterday where they found a man in his 30s with a stab wound. He was rushed to hospital, where his injuries were assessed as “not life-threatening or life-changing”, a Met spokesperson said.
The Met was then called at 5.55am to reports of a man with stab injuries in a car in Wanstead Lane, Ilford. The man, also in his 30s, was taken to hospital where he is understood to be in a stable condition.
Police officers believe both incidents to be linked, with Met enquiries so far suggesting a disturbance began inside a Hall Lane bar before spilling outside.
Two men, aged 33 and 30, have since been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
In a statement on Facebook, Chingford and Woodford Green MP Sir Iain Duncan Smith said a serious incident involving two men took place at [sic] “Scorpio Bar” [Scorpion Lounge] in Hall Lane.
Waltham Forest Council approved a late night operating license for Scorpion Lounge in January 2025.
The venue, which was previously a restaurant, was allowed to open between 10am and 12.30am on weekdays, and between 10am and 1am on Fridays and Saturdays.
According to the license terms, there is no designated dance floor and patrons need to be seated to drink.
At a licensing sub-comittee meeting last January, Maloku said he installed £30,000 worth of soundproofing amid noise concerns from residents.
At the same meeting, a license officer said the council had investigated the premises after hearing it had stayed open until 4am on several occasions, but no evidence of breaches was found.
In a promotional post on Instagram for a Saturday night (31st January) event, the bar gave a start time of 11pm.
Scorpion Lounge did not respond to a request for comment.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called on Sunday 1st February at 4.55am to reports of a stabbing.
“We sent resources including ambulance crews, a clinical team manager and an incident response officer. We treated a man at the scene before taking him to a London major trauma centre.”
