Officers found the man with a stab wound shortly after 9.14pm yesterday (6th July)

Police have launched a murder investigation after a 26-year-old man was found with a fatal stab wound in Chingford Mount Road yesterday evening (Sunday 6th).
Officers on patrol were notified by members of the public of the stabbing at 9.14pm. A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said the man tragically died at the scene despite efforts by emergency services to revive him.
A forensics tent and police cordon are currently in place in Chingford Mount Road outside the charity shop Haven’s House.
The Echo understands that no arrests have yet been made. Chingford Mount Road is currently cordoned off to traffic between the junctions of Albert Avenue and New Road (A1009).
Chief Superintendent Dan Card, who leads policing in Waltham Forest, said: “We are deeply saddened by the events that took place last night and our thoughts remain with the man’s family at this hugely difficult time.
“Detectives are working hard to establish the circumstances of what happened yesterday evening.
“We understand the impact this incident will have on the local community and officers are being deployed on reassurance patrols to help answer any questions or concerns.”
