Forest Road and Wood Street junction to shut for works this weekend

Between 8pm and 5am until Monday 24th August, the junction will be completely closed to traffic

The junction of Forest Road, Wood Street and Fulbourne Road will be shut to traffic between 8pm and 5am until Monday 24th August due to road resurfacing works.

Between those times, the junction will be completely closed to traffic, except for emergency services, while some parking bays will be temporarily suspended. Signed diversion routes will be in place for motorists, the council has said, while bus routes will be diverted too.

In a statement shared via Waltham Forest Council leader Paul Perkins’ newsletter, the town hall told residents: “We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause and will do our best to minimise disruption while these works are being carried out.”

The works form part of the council’s Forest Road Scheme, which has seen new segregated cycle tracks, trees, blended crossings, and a segregated pedestrian and cycle crossing and raised junction installed along the road and its junctions.
