The Leytonstone Arts Trail returns for its 17th year in July, showcasing work by local artists in homes, studios, cafés, pubs, shops, and “unexpected corners” of E11.

Founded in 2008, the volunteer-run arts trail is an annual visual festival open to artists of all ages and backgrounds, from hobbyists to professionals.

Running from Saturday 5th to Sunday 13th July, this year’s trail will feature over 80 artists who work across a wide range of mediums, including painting, sculpture, printmaking to photography, textiles, installations, and more.

Programme highlights include open studios and home exhibitions, pop-up shows in local businesses and cafés, as well as workshops and events for all ages.

Also on the lineup is a children’s drop-in art hub at No. 1 Church Lane where families will be able to take home their own artwork.

Local residents are encouraged to once again display art in their windows as part of the long-running community project Let’s Fill Leytonstone With Art.

As part of this year’s edition, Leytonstone Arts Trail has also commissioned Idea Space, a local community arts charity, to run a project connecting three primary schools through a brief set around nature, wildlife and slogans. Artists Bob and Roberta Smith OBE RA will join the children on a tour of the trail once it’s installed.

Their creations, made from salvaged wood and paint in the guest artist’s style, will be on show throughout the art trail.

The 2025 trail guide and full programme will be available online and in participating venues from late June. Find out more here

Visitors can also explore the trail virtually via the Bloomberg Connects app
