‘Metal band for kids’ coming to Walthamstow this month

Slay Duggee have been making waves with their heavy tunes and kid-friendly moshing

Slay Duggee in action

A “metal band for kids” will be bringing the thrill of heavy rock to a “safe and welcoming environment” in Walthamstow later this month.

Slay Duggee brings its “electrifying live performance show” to Signature Brew in Blackhorse Lane from 1pm on Sunday, 27th April, joined by special support from Stella Creasy MP (aka DJ Jemima Fiend).

Slay Duggee, described as a “notorious metal band for kids”, have been making waves with their heavy tunes and child-friendly moshing. The gig offers parents and children the chance to experience the thrill of a live metal show without any adult themes.

“You’ve probably heard of Raver Tots. This is mosher tots!” explains Slay Duggee singer Black Shuck.

The band’s performances are packed with circle pits, pogoing, and hilarious explanations of classic metal traditions like drum solos, rock hands and encores.

Expect to hear metal versions of beloved kids’ songs, including Baby Shark, Stick (Hey Duggee), Bluey, Spongebob Squarepants, and even I’m Still Standing, all performed in Slay Duggee’s signature hardcore style.

The gig will also feature chances to meet the dogs to get signatures and selfies, alongside merch, face painting and sign-making.

In addition to the Slay Duggee performance, long-time friend of the band and Walthamstow MP Stella Creasy will be spinning tracks as DJ Jemima Fiend (named after her non-starter teenage indie band), bringing her unique indie and alternative sounds to warm up the crowd.
