Walthamstow Trades Hall to host International Women’s Day event

The day event will include craft sessions, as well as all-ability Bollywood and hip-hop dance workshops, a cake stand, photobooth, talks, and networking opportunities, before a night of live music

Walthamstow Trades Hall will host a family-friendly International Women’s Day party tomorrow (8th March).

The day party will include craft sessions, as well as all-ability Bollywood and hip-hop dance workshops, a cake stand, photobooth, and networking opportunities.

Debbie Bliss and Walthamstow Welcome will lead a £10 donation required “unique crafternoon”, while SuzieCakesE17 will be serving cakes and treats throughout the free day event which runs from 12pm to 5pm.

Mevy from Bolly X will be teaching visitors fun Bollywood dance steps while The Blair Academy will teach chair-based Hip Hop.

The day event will additionally feature networking opportunities including Jacqueline Grant from the Waltham Forest Women’s Network while Tereza and Charlie from Groundwork will be there to talk about how businesses and communities can be helped to build a green future.

Meanwhile, young creative Anni R will run a photobooth pop-up to raise money for a worthy women’s charity.

From 7.30pm, there will be a live music takeover from The Ondines, More Peas Please, Ich bin Finn, and Kimmi Watson, as well as a female DJ keeping the vibes going until 1am. 

The hosts say: “This International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating community, creativity, and the incredible talent of women! Join us for a day and night of fun, connection, and celebration.”

Daytime entry is free. Tickets for the She17 Takeover are £5 and free for Walthamstow Trades Hall members. Find tickets here
