Adeel Khan, 30, allegedly assisted Khalife after he escaped from HMP Wandsworth in September 2023

A second man from Waltham Forest has been charged with assisting prison escapee Daniel Khalife.

Adeel Khan, 30, allegedly assisted Khalife after he escaped from HMP Wandsworth in September 2023.

He has also been charged with possession of a phone in prison.

Khan was charged via postal requisition earlier this month and is due to attend Westminster Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (14th January).

Khalife, 23, escaped from HMP Wandsworth in September 2023 after he tied himself to the underside of a food delivery truck.

He had been awaiting trial for sharing classified information with contacts in Iran. In November 2024, Khalife was found guilty of spying for the Middle Eastern country.

Imran Chowdhury, 25, from Chingford, has also been charged with assisting Khalife after he escaped from HMP Wandsworth.

He appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 7th January and pleaded not guilty. He was released on bail to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 4th February.
