Stow-Ho House returns to Walthamstow for a second year as organisers promise a mystery ‘globally recognised’ headliner
A sold-out charity DJ event with a starry lineup is to take place at Walthamstow Trades Hall this Thursday.
Stow–Ho House, a play on private members club Soho House, will take over Trades Hall on 28th September from 7pm until 1am.
All proceeds from the night will go to the local Waltham Forest food bank Eat or Heat. The charity provides hundreds of thousands of meals every year to residents in the borough who are dealing with food poverty and financial hardships.
A limited number of tickets will be made available for purchase through Eventbrite on the 28th when the “special guest” headliner is announced. General admission tickets cost £15. The event organisers say that Trades Hall will be the smallest venue the mystery “globally recognised” headliner has played in years.
The line-up includes esteemed music producer James Ford, one half of electronic duo Simian Mobile Disco. Alongside being in the band, James has produced for famous bands like The Arctic Monkeys, Blur, Foals, Depeche Mode and Florence and the Machine.
The night will also feature a set from house and disco selector Sarahtonin, who recently played London favourites XOYO, Spiritland, Night Tales and Corsica Studios.

Stow-Ho House is the brainchild of neighbours Juliet Cromwell and Samuel Potts who met while queuing to pick up their kids at nursery. They decided to create a party that they could walk to and that finished at a reasonable time.
Its inaugural November event last year took place at Walthamstow social club Orford House. The family-focused ‘all-dayer’ raised over £3,000 for Eat or Heat and featured a raffle, arts and crafts, storytelling, face painting, sets from local DJs, and mulled cider.
The event organisers are also putting on a free sound therapy event called rcdrooms on the 28th at 1pm. Attendees are asked to bring their own mat, blanket, and eye mask for what is described as an “immersive listening” experience. The sound therapy session will be led by Michelle Cade, a vocalist, music producer, and group facilitator originally from South Africa.
Extra tickets for Stow-Ho House will be made available to buy on Eventbrite on 28th September
