Two men were left with “life-changing injuries” after reportedly being sprayed with acid by a group of masked intruders.
Police were called to a home in Selwyn Avenue in Chingford at half past midnight on Saturday, 23rd July, after reports a group in balaclavas had broken in.
The group are said to have sprayed acid at two men, both in their 30s, and slashed one on the arm but left empty-handed.
The men were taken to hospital, where doctors confirmed that one has lost most of the sight in one eye.
Detective Constable Tiffany Africa, from the local policing team in Waltham Forest, said:“This was a terrible attack and has left the two victims too terrified to return to their own home.
“I am asking for anyone who was in the area in the early hours of Saturday, and saw anybody acting suspiciously, to come forward immediately.”
