A young pedestrian is in hospital but is expected to survive his injuries
By Waltham Forest Echo

Police are investigating a fatal Chingford crash where the driver is believed to have “suffered from a medical episode”.
Officers were called, along with the London Fire Brigade and London’s Air Ambulance, to Hall Lane just before noon on Wednesday, 13th July, after a van hit a pedestrian.
The van driver, a 56-year-old man who is thought to have fallen ill behind the wheel, died at the scene. His loved ones have been informed.
The pedestrian, a man in his 20s, was rushed to hospital, although his condition is “not life-threatening”, a police spokesperson confirmed today.
Police are calling on anyone who witnessed the crash earlier this week or who has dashcam footage to come forward.
