Anica Rosenberg invites people to Leontia Gallery for an exhibition inspired by this year’s world events

An exhibition featuring a mix of phenomenal artists really could not have been timed better given all that is currently boiling over in world events.

One of the exhibitors, Dan Tague, is a pioneering artist whose thought-provoking works have taken the world by storm. His hybrid works question war, morality, democracy and consumerism. Leontia Gallery is the first to ever show his work in the UK.

People are becoming familiar with his commissioned artwork for Children in Need and now our Walthamstow gallery is the only place where his work can be viewed by the public.

The work Dan has produced has been especially made for the gallery. Momma Tried was created in reaction to Brexit, while Appetite for Destruction has taken on new meaning in the wake of Donald Trump’s recent election as President of the United States.

Dan lives and works in New Orleans and has been exhibited in prominent collections such as the Ogden Museum, Whitney Museum of American Art, Speed Art Museum, and the Frederick Weisman Collection.

After our launch of this exhibition in Shoreditch last month, Leontia Gallery has purposely selected a range of pieces, from £300 through to £4,000, to encourage existing and new enthusiasts to be at the forefront of this pioneering new movement of contemporary art.

Leontia Gallery is based at 6-10 Central Parade, 137 Hoe Street, Walthamstow. The exhibition there is running until 18th December.
