Police say they are not treating the death as suspicious

A 19-year-old man was found dead in Hollow Pond, Leytonstone yesterday morning (11th February), with police saying the death is not being treated as suspicious.
The Metropolitan Police was called to Hollow Pond, near Whipps Cross Road at around 7am yesterday, after members of the public reported that a man had been found unconscious.
Police attended with the London Ambulance Service (LAS) who sadly declared the man dead at the scene. A spokesperson for the Met said the force believes it has identified him, and that it is working to inform the man’s next of kin.
They added: “The death is being treated as unexpected but not suspicious, and has been referred to the coroner.”
An LAS spokesperson said: “We were called at 7.06am yesterday (11 February) to reports of an incident in Whipps Cross Road, Leytonstone.
“We sent an ambulance crew, paramedics in fast response cars and an incident response officer to the scene. Sadly a person was found dead at the scene.”
