Families, food lovers, and culture‑seekers will all find something to dive into on Saturday (6th June), with many events free or low‑cost

Businesses, community groups, and pubs are opening their doors all day on Saturday (6th June) for the Wood Street Festival.
The day will see fun activities, special offers and community events stretching from morning coffee to late‑night dancefloors.
Families, food lovers, culture‑seekers and night owls will all find something to dive into, with many events free or low‑cost.
Shops and cafés along the high street are joining in with exclusive discounts, including 10% off flowers at Betty June, 10% off at Chocolatine, and 15% off Tuto’s new summer menu.
Haven Coffee will host a pop‑up at Wood Street Library, serving drinks and sharing news about their work supporting refugees.
History fans can join Joanna Moncrieff’s Secret of Wood Street walking tours, exploring lost pubs, film studios and local legends. Families can head to Aavo Café for a bouncy castle and crafts, or drop into the library for World Ocean Day activities.
Troubridge Square becomes a mini‑festival hub, with free tai chi, kids crafts, and live music from Vestry Sessions. Meanwhile, Wood Street Bakery will team up with Wood Street Coffee for an afternoon pastry pairing, before launching its new Bakery Lates series with wine, snacks and a DJ.
Fitness fans can try free HIIT50 and Yogasana classes at Pure Muscles Gym (advance booking required), while runners can join a 5k run club from Wood Street Bear – with a free beer at the finish line.
As the day rolls on, the nightlife takes over: Cove17’s soundsystem party, live art disco at Images in Frames, drag cabaret at Pixie’s Bar, karaoke at The Flower Pot, and DJ sets at Wood Street Bear. The Duke rounds things off with a festival afterparty until 3am.
There’s also a Bridgerton‑themed tea party, creative workshops for adults, personalised gifts at the indoor market, and two evening events at The Old Station Yard Café including ‘Sex, Drugs and Toilet Roll’, a talk on Wood Street history with supper included.
The festival is organised by We Are Wood Street, supported by Waltham Forest Council and sponsored by Stow Brothers. Some activities require booking, and each venue manages its own programme.
