Scouts UK have launched a third Leytonstone Scout Group due to local demand.

The Scouts are running a weekly programme of activity for Beavers (6-8 years), Cubs (8-10 years), and Scouts (10-14 years) every Sunday evening in George Tomlinson Primary School. There are over 200 activities, ranging from outdoor adventures and creative arts to community projects and technical challenges.

Whether it’s hiking, building robots, or launching a social action project, the third Leytonstone Scouts group provides a safe and supportive space for children of all faiths and backgrounds to build confidence, learn practical skills and create lifelong friendships.

Dwayne Fields, adventurer, TV presenter, and Chief Scout said: “It’s so important that young people have a chance to get outdoors and to feel wet grass under their feet and a little mud on their hands. Living and working together with others at camp and on outdoor activities helps build an adventure spirit, respect, and grit – all key life skills”

In a recent poll 94% of Scouts said they had developed useful skills, 95% said they’ve tried activities they haven’t tried before and 85% said they are happier since joining.

There are also opportunities for adults to volunteer. Alan, a Scout volunteer said: “Behind every campfire, badge and big smile is a volunteer who made it possible. Join our team and you’ll make all the difference to young lives and feel great. Whether you want to work with children directly or help behind the scenes as a Trustee, there’s something for everyone at Scouts.’’

The 3rd Leytonstone Scout Group meet in George Tomlinson Primary School, Vernon Road entrance, Leytonstone E11 4QU.  Contact the team at [email protected] to find out more
