Man dies after being hit by lorry on North Circular near Chingford

A man in his 30s has died after being hit by a lorry on the North Circular Road in Chingford on Monday (29th December).

According to the Metropolitan Police, the collision happened soon after 5.35pm on the westbound carriageway towards Chingford.

The man, who is yet to be named publicly, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, the Met added.

No one has been arrested in connection with the incident.

A Met spokesperson said: “At 5.39pm on Monday, 29th December officers responded to reports of a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and lorry on the A406, N18, westbound towards Chingford.

“The pedestrian, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.

“The man’s family are being supported by specialist officers. No arrests have been made.”

The LAS was contacted for further comment.
