Firefighters tackle flat blaze in Priory Court in Walthamstow

A small part of the first floor of a three bedroom flat was damaged by the fire this morning

Firefighters tackled a fire at a block of flats in Darndale Close, Walthamstow this morning (22nd December).

According to the London Fire Brigade (LFB), a small part of the first floor of a three roomed flat was damaged by the fire, which was extinguished by 8.15am. Two people left the building before the LFB arrived.

The Echo understands one man was treated at the scene and taken to hospital.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 7.10am today to reports of an incident on Darndale Close, Walthamstow.

“We sent resources to the scene including an ambulance crew, an incident response officer, a clinical team manager and paramedics from our hazardous area response team (HART). We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance. We treated a patient and took them to hospital.”
