Five people including two cops were hospitalised yesterday after a police pursuit through Leytonstone ended in a serious car crash.

Pictures from the crash scene on the A12 northbound near the Green Man Roundabout showed a severely damaged police car, with its front end crushed.

Two police officers, as well as the driver and two passengers of the chased car were taken to hospital with “non life-threatening injuries”, the Metropolitan Police said.

The London Ambulance Service, the London Fire Brigade and a helicopter attended the scene, with the first call coming at around 4.22pm yesterday (10th June).

The driver of the chased car was also arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
