Leytonstone all-day music festival promises over 20 live acts

Shake The High Road is set to return to Leytonstone on Saturday 3rd May, with a line up including Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor

All-day music festival Shake The High Road is set to return to Leytonstone this early May bank holiday, with a line up including over 20 live artists and DJs across various venues.

The line-up for Saturday 3rd May announced so far includes Alexis Taylor, Bill Brewster and Sophie Jamieson, with a BBC Introducing Stage featuring Lewis Daniel, Graecyn, Kemi Ade. More artists will be announced in the coming weeks.

Confirmed venues include St John’s Leytonstone, the Leytonstone Social Club while Filly Brook will host the official after-party.

One ticket will get you access to the entire festival, starting at lunchtime and running until late.

Last year’s iteration, the first in five years, included Nathan Fake, Daudi Matsiko, Deptford Northern Soul Club, Donna Thompson, Wrongtom meets The Ragga Twins, Alena Arpels, Minor Conflict, Vanity Fairy, Walthamstow Rock ‘n’ Roll Book Club.

Meanwhile, a pre-party at Good Shepherd’s Studio saw local producer/DJ Wrongtom present a deep dive into Waltham Forest’s dub and reggae scene, showcasing the influences that led towards Primal Scream’s Screamadelica album, which was recorded in the borough. 

Tickets to Shake The High Road cost £34 for adults, with concessions available for children and over 65s/disabled. You can purchase them here
