A young woman was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after she was hit by a bus in Hoe Street, Walthamstow this morning (4th March).

Emergency services raced to the scene after receiving a call at 7.20am today (4th March), where they found the woman near the Ye Olde Rose and Crown pub. Her injuries, while serious, are not believed to be life threatening.

A spokesperson from the London Ambulance Service told the Echo: “We were called today at 7.20am to a road traffic collision in Hoe Street, Walthamstow.

“We sent resources to the scene including ambulance crews and a clinical team manager and treated a woman before taking her to a major trauma centre.”

Metropolitan Police officers also attended the scene.

TfL was contacted for comment.

Walthamstow Bus Station was temporarily shut for safety works from Friday 8th November up to and including Friday 20th December.

The safety works were in response to safety recommendations made following the death of Grace Mecaley, 74, who was struck by a 212 bus at the station in December 2023.
