Chinese street food trader Choy House will give away 50 free meals from 12pm on Saturday 30th November to celebrate its recent opening.

The new food spot had a “soft launch” in the CRATE food hall in Walthamstow’s 17&Central shopping centre earlier this month.

Its menu includes freshly-made chow mein stir fry, as well as egg fried rice, and singapore noodles starting from £9.50, with the option to add tofu, or satay/sweet and sour/sweet chilli lime chicken.

It is also possible to try home made soups for £11.50, including seafood stew with rice, or beef soup with noodles.

Customers can also buy two pieces of spring rolls, and sauces for just £1 extra. Choy House offer a kids menu, starting from £5.

Choy House will be open from 12pm to 7pm on Sunday – Tuesday, 12pm to 7.30pm on Wednesday – Friday, and 12pm – 8.30pm on Saturdays.

The Chinese restaurant also runs a separate stall inside the Canteen Food Hall & Bar near North Greenwich Station.

CRATE Walthamstow opened its doors to customers in July last year in the rebuilt shopping centre 17&Central, formerly the Mall.

As well as boasting a number of independent street food traders, including burger brand Nanny Bill’s and Yorkshire Burrito, CRATE also includes an in-house craft beer and cocktail bar as well as a speciality coffee shop from Central Coffee Collective.

The central Walthamstow site is situated over the entire first floor of 17&Central and offers a private event space which can be booked for workshops, comedy shows, panel discussions, and mini movie marathon nights, alongside a large event space.

CRATE also features a nine-hole Waltham Forest-inspired indoor mini golf course.
