Leyton man in court facing terrorism charges

Robert Adamski, 28, was charged with several offences following a police investigation into suspected extreme right wing terrorism

A Leyton man is in court today facing several charges that relate to suspected far right terrorism.

Robert Adamski, 28, was charged on Wednesday (17th July) with two counts of possession of a component part of a firearm, two counts of dissemination of terrorist publications, and possession of documents likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing a terrorist act.

He is appearing at Westminster Magistrates Court today.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police’s counter terrorism command unit arrested him on Thursday 11th July. He was taken into custody and detained under the Terrorism Act 2000, with officers obtaining a warrant for his further detention until today (18th July).

The Met also arrested a woman on suspicion of possession of a firearm on 11th July. She has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

In a statement released to press, the Met said that it does not believe there any threat to the public in relation to the arrests.
