The nursery manager raised the alarm immediately when she couldn’t reach his family

A toddler stranded at home after the sudden death of his mother was unharmed thanks to the diligence of a Leytonstone nursery manager.
When Tarin Edwards from Busy Bees Leytonstone noticed 20-month-old Alman had not showed up that day and was unable to reach his mother or uncle, she immediately raised the alarm.
Police visited the family home and found that Alman’s mother had died. However, thanks to Tarin’s quick action, he was safe and well.
In recognition of her care and attention, Tarin, who has worked for Busy Bees since she was 17, received a Police Commendation Award at Leyton Great Hall earlier this week.
Tarin told the Echo: “I am delighted to have received this award, it is a huge honour. I am also thankful that I followed my gut instinct and reacted quickly to ensure Alman was safe.”
Busy Bees added Alman to its Community Support Scheme, which aims to help families going through difficult circumstances. Since April, he has received free childcare five days a week.
Wendy Morland, safeguarding lead at Busy Bees, added: “Here at Busy Bees, our utmost priority is to keep our children safe. It is thanks to Tarin’s attention, promptness, and relationship with the family that Alman was safe.”
