Alison Manning is launching free coaching workshops for women
I’ve been living in Walthamstow for seven years. Waltham Forest is a great borough, there is a lot going on, and you can more or less do anything and everything here.
But I have a question; do we all have the same amount of access to what’s out there?
How many of us are waiting for the right time to sign up for that course, get the advice to find the kind of job we really want, have the confidence to ask for that raise at work, or challenge our doctor if we disagree with them?
The months and years roll by and we are still waiting for that right time. Yet the right time never seems to come, it’s always off, over the horizon, in the future. And even when we decide it’s the right time, how do we go about making that change, what do we need to do, who can we turn to, or who can help us with those first steps?
I was troubled by this, I wanted to do something about it. As an experienced coach and a lifelong supporter of women and women’s causes, I wanted to offer something to women in the borough. I know that coaching can really help with these issues and questions. But many women wouldn’t even think of coaching; we’ve either never heard about it or would never be able to afford it.
I wanted to make coaching available for free, offering it to those who wouldn’t normally get it. So I looked around and applied to a foundation for a grant. I was incredibly lucky to get the grant, and am now excited to launch Coaching Workshops for Women at The Mill in Walthamstow.
This is an invitation to any woman in the borough; if you want to explore your own depth, and find some new ways to respond to life from a deeper part of yourself, join me and other women in this exploration.
These coaching sessions will increase confidence, giving us the experience of really being listened to – maybe for the first time in our lives – and gain strength from working with other women.
I will be holding an introductory day on Saturday 1st September, please get in touch if you are interested.
