Walthamstow residents are being urged to have a ‘spring fling to mend a broken heart’ by donating quality, preloved clothes and homeware to the British Heart Foundation (BHF) shop on Walthamstow High Street.

As the charity retailer celebrates its annual Reuse Revolution campaign, locals are being urged to donate any quality unwanted items to help fund vital lifesaving research.

Sheena Patel, area manager at British Heart Foundation, said: “Spring is the season for a clear-out, so we’re asking people to have a ‘spring fling’ – bag up re-sellable, quality items that you no longer love or use and donate it to us.

“At the moment we’re in particular need of quality menswear and womenswear. But it’s not just clothes. We can rehome quality homeware, bric-a-brac, books and toys. Your donations help raise vital funds for the BHF’s research.

“We rely on the generosity of people in Walthamstow to keep the shop stocked. That blazer you no longer need or those trainers you no longer wear, could help fund the next research breakthrough – and they could be exactly what someone else is looking for.”

Each year, BHF shops and stores raise millions to help fund research into cardiovascular disease. Every three minutes, someone loses their life to heart and circulatory disease in the UK. Thanks to the support of customers, donors and shop teams, BHF research is working to change that.

There are three easy ways to donate to BHF: drop items into the shop during opening hours; post donations for free by printing a postage label online; or arrange a free collection for larger donations.

Help mend a broken heart this April – shop, donate or volunteer with the British Heart Foundation and join the Reuse Revolution
