Armed police raced to Boundary Road and Westmorland Road yesterday evening (31st March) after gunshots were reportedly heard by locals.

However, those involved in the reported shooting had fled the scene before armed response units and officers arrived shortly after 8.20pm, the Metropolitan Police said.

Photos of the scene posted on social media appear to show bullet casings on the floor next to a red motorbike lying on its side against a white BMW car.

The London Ambulance Service said they were stood down by the Met as there were no patients reported. No arrests have yet been made and the police is appealing to witnesses to help with its investigation.

Boundary Road, Wellesley Road, Chelmsford Road, St Barnabus Road, and Westmoreland Road were closed today while police conducted their investigation.

Any witnesses, or those with information, are urged to contact police via 101, quoting 7454/31MAR. Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
