A 36-year-old woman was shot and rushed to hospital shortly after midnight today (29th September).
Police were called to Howard Road, near Church Hill in Walthamstow at 12.17am today, where they found the injured woman.
Paramedics treated her before taking her to hospital. According to the Metropolitan Police her injuries are “not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing”.
No arrests have been made at this stage, the spokesperson stated, adding: “We understand this has caused concern in the community and there will be an increased police presence in the area.”
The Echo understands a police cordon is currently in place at the Church Hill end of Howard Road, near Walthamstow Village.
The London Ambulance Service (LAS) said: “We were called today (Mon 29) at 12.21am to reports of an incident in Howard Road, E17.
“We sent resources including ambulance crews, an incident response officer and London’s air ambulance. We treated a person at the scene before taking them to hospital.”
