Woman rushed to hospital following Walthamstow collision

A woman was rushed to hospital following a road traffic collision in Markhouse Road, Walthamstow, this morning (28th March).

The incident, which happened just after 10.40am, caused Markhouse Road to be temporarily closed both ways between Ringwood Road and St James Street while emergency services responded.

The woman’s condition is not yet known.

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 10.41am today (28 March) to reports of a road traffic collision on Markhouse Road, Walthamstow.

“We sent an ambulance crew and a paramedic in a fast response car to the scene.

“We treated a woman at the scene and took her to hospital as a priority.”

The incident comes just weeks after a teenage boy was hospitalised after being hit by a 158 bus in Markhouse Road, prompting Transport for London to launch an investigation.
