The fire is believed to have been caused by cigarettes that hadn’t been put out

25 firefighters tackled a fire in a Walthamstow shed yesterday caused by cigarettes that hadn’t been put out.
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) was called to the fire in Chingford Road at 9.55pm, with the incident was over for firefighters at 11.31pm.
Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from Walthamstow, Leyton and Tottenham fire stations attended the scene.
Part of the shed was destroyed by fire.
The LFB says the fire is being treated as accidental and was caused by the “unsafe disposal of smoking materials”.
Station officer Carl Gibbons, who was at the scene, said: “Crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire. If you smoke it’s vitally important you stub it right out, preferably in an ashtray.”
He warned: “Always ensure your cigarette is completely out when you’ve finished smoking it. If you don’t, you risk causing a fire.”
