Man charged with murder of Josh McKay

29-year-old Renai Belle from Edmonton has been charged with the murder of the father-of-two, reports Rana Rastegari

29-year-old Renai Belle from Edmonton has been charged with the murder of Josh McKay and possession of a knife.

Belle was charged on Wednesday 10th July after appearing in custody at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court. 

On Saturday 6th July, police were called to reports of a man stabbed on Lea Bridge Road shortly before 3pm. Unfortunately, despite emergency services attempting to save him, 33-year-old Josh McKay who was a father-of-two, died at the scene. 

Friends, family and community members have paid tribute to Josh, bringing flowers, balloons and family photos to the pavement outside the barbershop where he was fatally stabbed. 

Officers also arrested a 38-year-old woman on suspicion of assisting an offender. Arrested on the 7th of July, she is currently being held on bail awaiting further enquiries. 

In a statement released by the police, Josh’s family stated: “The heart of our family has stopped beating. The world is less bright without his beautiful smile.” 

Josh’s family continue to receive specialist support from officers and local community members continue to pay tribute to the father of two.
