The Mill, in Coppermill Lane, is looking for community-minded locals to join its trustee board

The Mill, a community centre in Walthamstow, has put out an open call for locals to join its trustee board.
The Mill is a small, volunteer-led charity running a “community living room” in Coppermill Lane, near St James Street Station, where neighbours of all ages can drop in, volunteer and take part in many groups and activities.
Having recently secured funding, The Mill says now marks a “pivotal time to join the organisation as a trustee and contribute to its growth and impact”.

The Mill says it is particularly interested in individuals who have a “strong knowledge of Walthamstow and the local community, an understanding of residents who may be vulnerable or isolated, or who already volunteer or actively participate in The Mill’s activities”.
Those with professional expertise in facilities or building management, development, or a passion for data, evidence gathering, and demonstrating the community value of The Mill are also sought after.
Above all, The Mill seeks trustees who are enthusiastic about strengthening local connections and sharing its values of inclusion, positivity, and collaboration. People of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities are welcome to apply.
Sharon Goldman, chair of The Mill, said: “Being a trustee at The Mill is a unique opportunity to shape the future of a space where our diverse community connects, creativity flourishes, and local projects come to life. We welcome anyone who shares our values and enthusiasm to get involved.”
For further information, including what’s involved in becoming a Trustee and how to apply, visit The Mill Vacancies or email [email protected]. Applications close on Monday 9th February.
