Met Police to hold community forum in Leyton

The Metropolitan Police is inviting residents to an open discussion on policing and crime in the borough on Tuesday, 28th October

The Metropolitan Police is inviting Waltham Forest residents to hear from local and senior officers on how the force is fighting crime in the borough.

The event will take place at the Great Hall in Adelaide Road, Leyton on Tuesday 28th October, from 5.30pm-9pm.

The open forum will be attended by the Deputy Commissioner Matt Dukes, as well as senior leaders and local officers from Waltham Forest.

The event is billed as an opportunity to hear officers discuss concerns in the local community, and progress within the borough since the launch of the A New Met For London programme in 2023.

A New Met for London included a commitment to put more officers and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) into local neighbourhoods, as well as a “culture change” promise to tackle issues of racism, misogyny and homophobia within the Met.

The event will close with an open forum Q&A session with Met leaders fielding questions from the public.

Hot and cold drinks and catering will also be provided.

Tickets to the free event are limited to one per person, and people are encouraged to book their free ticket as soon as possible on Eventbrite to ensure entry.
