Celebrating their fifth anniversary, the East London Shakespeare festival is bringing their production of As You Like It to parks around Waltham Forest.

Founded by Ursula Early and Rosie Ward, who both live and work in Waltham Forest, East London Shakespeare Festival aims to bring accessible Shakespeare performances to local spaces across East London.

Ursula Early, who trained at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, is the Artistic Director and Creative Producer at Blackhorse Arts and CentrE17 in Walthamstow. Rosie Ward is the Principal at Act Out Performing Arts, an acting school providing summer workshops for four to 16-year-olds in Walthamstow.

The family friendly outdoor performance of Shakespeare’s comedy As You Like It “blends contemporary London culture with the Bard’s wit, romance and secret identities.” The ELSF aims to bring their signature style of high energy, slapstick comedy and audience participation to every performance.

ELSF are launching a Young Company in Waltham Forest for seven to 17-year-olds, offering weekly classes for all age groups and LAMDA coaching and exam prep for older teenagers.

Upcoming performances in Waltham Forest are at Langthorne Park, Leytonstone on Friday, 1st August, Leyton Jubilee Park on Saturday, 2nd August and Big Penny Social, Walthamstow on Sunday, 3rd August.
