Weekly sessions are being held in the Feel Good Centre and Pastures Centre

Walthamstow and Leytonstone residents aged 55 or over are invited to try out “walking football” with Age UK Waltham Forest.
The walking version of Britain’s most popular sport is intended as a “fun, friendly and safe way” of exercising later in life.
Age UK Waltham Forest is inviting all older residents to take part, regardless of whether they have played football before.
One member of the current Leytonstone team told the Echo: “I am a 71-year-old woman who has never played football in her life but some of the men have played football since they were kids, but now prefer walking to running.
“It is amazing how we all enjoy playing together. It is great exercise and I thoroughly recommend it.”
The £4 sessions are held at Pastures Youth Centre in Leytonstone from 10.30-11.30am on Mondays and at the Feel Good Centre in Walthamstow from 10.30-11.30am on Thursdays.
Eleanor Jewell, from Age UK Waltham Forest said: “We’re hoping all the excitement around the Women’s Euros will inspire the older people of Waltham Forest to join our group.
“Our two groups have proved very popular among men and women and are testament to the fact that football can unite so many different people!”
