After six years playing successfully as Leyton Orient WFC, our team was told this summer that we would no longer be able to use this name.

Despite our disappointment, we are determined to turn this setback into an opportunity to build an even better future as a strong independent women’s club: London Seaward FC. It’s an exciting journey that we are just at the start of and we hope you will come with us.

London Seaward aims to inspire the next generation, both on and off the pitch, by creating a club where everyone is empowered. We hope to become an integral part of our community by engaging children and young people through outreach programmes, promoting local businesses and working with Walthamstow FC and other local teams.

Most importantly, we want to create a welcoming environment for fans and friends and to provide an exciting performance every Sunday afternoon at our new home at Wadham Lodge, Walthamstow.

Our new First Team manager Dan McKimm said: “It’s been a less than straightforward period for the club recently, as we’ve looked to establish our identity, but it’s a privilege to be part of creating something special and unique.

“My main focus right now is expanding the coaching team to ensure we have the right people in place to support this exceptional group of women, who are not only fantastically talented footballers, but who are also a pleasure to work with.”

Despite the many challenges the club has faced this year, we continue to match our competitors. On 24th October, we won 8-0 against Chelmsford City Women in the first game of our FA Cup campaign. We have also enjoyed some brilliant cup runs in recent seasons, last year reaching the third round proper.

We would love you to come down, get to know us all and show your support for a team re-building. Our next big game is against Cambridge City LFC on 14th November. We look forward to meeting you!
