Residents will not be able to buy or renew permits on Monday 29th or Tuesday 30th June before the council migrates from RingGo to new parking system MiPermit on Wednesday 1st July

Waltham Forest Council will switch its parking system from RingGo to MiPermit on Wednesday 1st July, with a two‑day pause in permit sales while the changeover takes place.
Residents will not be able to buy or renew permits on Monday 29th June or Tuesday 30th June, as the council migrates accounts to the new platform. During this period, permit‑bay enforcement will be suspended, though all other parking restrictions will continue as normal.
The council says MiPermit will offer faster approvals and simpler account management, allowing users to apply, pay, renew and track permit usage in one place. Visitor permits will also be available instantly, including virtual books. Existing RingGo customers will receive an email inviting them to set up their new MiPermit account.
All active RingGo permits will remain valid until they expire and scratch cards can continue to be used as normal. Once MiPermit goes live, renewals and any amendments will be handled through the new system.
A link to the new platform will be published on the council’s website from 1st July. MiPermit apps will also be available for Apple and Android devices.
Residents without internet access can apply by calling the council’s permit team on 0203 092 0112 (option 3).
For further support once the system is live, residents can email [email protected] or phone the permit line.
