17&Central is searching for ten aspiring social media influencers from Waltham Forest to compete for the chance to become its brand ambassador.

It’s a unique opportunity for influencers looking to grow their personal brand, receive mentorship, and collaborate with the shopping centre’s marketing team.

The Central Creators Challenge launched on 1st October, and applications will close on 1st November 2025. The lucky ten participants will be selected by 17&Central on 15th November. The competition itself will run from 1st January – 31st December 2026, with the overall winner being announced in January 2027.

As well as getting the chance to win a paid content creation gig with 17&Central, participants will get exposure on the shopping centre’s social media platforms.

They will also be offered mentorship from 17&Central’s social media agency and marketing team, monthly check-ins and strategy sessions and networking opportunities with other creators.

The budding social media stars will be judged on engagement (likes, comments, shares), reach (views and impressions), creativity and brand alignment and consistency of content creation.

“We’re excited to be launching our very first Central Creators Challenge,” said Gwendolyne Lobo, the shopping centre’s marketing manager. “It’s an amazing opportunity for local content creators and we can’t wait to get going with it. There are so many content opportunities at both 17 & Central and CRATE that our participants will be spoilt for choice.”
