Waltham Forest Council, alongside faith partners across the borough, are hosting an interfaith celebration at Fellowship Square on Sunday 18th of August from 12.30pm to 3.30pm.
Faithfest is a celebration that will bring together people of different religious and non religious beliefs to learn about the diverse communities within Waltham Forest.
The event will include a children’s choir, a yoga demonstration, a Nasheed performance, a Saree draping session, a speech on Judaism and more.
There will also be a variety of activities available for community members to participate in such as making a bookmark with quotes of your faith, making Mala Flower Garlands and helping to build a tree of hope by each adding a leaf with hopes and reflections. There will also be various sports activities including tennis and boxing as well as henna and face painting.
Faizan-E-Islam Mosque will be offering community members a chance to try on a hijab, watch a short video about the history of the Muslim world and word searches and colouring activities for children.
All Saints Church and Emmanuel Christian fellowship will offer Jigsaw puzzles, lamp making and Christian literature and crafts.
Food will be available throughout the day at Skills Within Food Truck which empowers young people to use the Waltham Forest food network to minimise food waste and use sustained food practices. There will be a low cost vegetarian and vegan menu as well as an ice cream van one site.
