Leyton’s Bamboo Mat offering diners a £1 dish to get through ‘Blue Monday’

The offer will run from 15th January until the end of the month

A Japanese and Peruvian restaurant, on Leyton High Road is offering a £1 dish to anyone that dines with them from 15th January.

Bamboo Mat, which also has a restaurant in Stratford, opened their Leyton High Road joint last year.

To redeem the offer, guests must spend at least £20 per head.

For just £1, guests will be able to pick a dish from Bamboo Mat’s main course of Chicken Anticucho, made with chicken thigh, anticucho sauce and chives, or grilled sweet potato with anticucho yoghurt, pickled shallots, feta and pomegranate.

If opting for a Peruvian dish, guests can go for Seabass Ceviche with aji amarillo tiger’s milk, sweet potato, red onion, chancha corn; and Artichoke Tostada with salsa criolla and salsa verde.

Bamboo Mat’s menu also include a wide range of sushi, such as the vegan Crispy Philadelphia Maki and their innovative Mango Maki, with avocado, cucumber, romano pepper, mango puree and Siracha sauce.

In a review of the Leyton restaurant, the Echo remarked that it has a “strong claim to being the best up-market restaurant in Waltham Forest, in a somewhat unlikely setting”.

This offer will run from 15th January (also known as ‘Blue Monday’) until the end of the month.
