Representatives from the London Overground, Greater Anglia and Network Rail are to hold a series of events for the public about the upcoming two-week closure of the Liverpool Street to Chingford line.

The line will be closed between 20th July and 4th August while Network Rail replaces a 150-year-old bridge near Hackney Downs Station. The closure means no Overground services will run between Hackney Downs and Chingford.

The events will be held on Tuesday 18th June at Hackney Downs station from 8am – 10am, Thursday 27th June at Liverpool Street station from 4pm – 6pm, and Thursday 11th July at Chingford station from 8am – 10am (London Overground and Network Rail only).

During the works, Greater Anglia services that usually run between Liverpool Street and Hertford East will start and finish at Stratford instead. The usual Stratford to Meridian Water services won’t run, but other services will make additional stops at both Meridian Water and Northumberland Park.

Additionally, Liverpool Street to Cambridge / Stansted Airport services will be diverted via, and call at, Seven Sisters instead of Tottenham Hale. Bishop’s Stortford to Stratford services will not operate, with passengers advised to use alternative services.

To help people get around during the works rail replacement buses will run between Hackney Downs and Chingford every 20 minutes, calling at all stations, with the Victoria line still in operation between Walthamstow Central and central London throughout the period.

Local buses will be running across the affected London Overground line, with passengers particularly advised to check routes 97, 212, 230 and 275 when planning their journeys. London Overground services to Enfield Town and Cheshunt will serve Bethnal Green and Hackney Downs stations.

Train services will additionally be affected by preparatory and follow-up works on Sunday 23rd June, Saturday 13th and Sunday 14 July, Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th August, Sunday 1st September and Sunday 8 September.
