A pedestrian was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car that also smashed into a kitchenware shop in High Road Leytonstone.
Emergency services were called at 2.52pm yesterday (5th May) to the scene where they found the injured man, in his 60s, and took him to hospital where he is receiving treatment for “life-threatening” injuries.
According to the Metropolitan Police, the driver of the car, also a man in his 60s, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injuries through careless driving and driving without insurance. He was taken to hospital for non-life threatening nor life changing injuries before being taken into police custody.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 2.49pm to reports of a road traffic collision in the High Road, Leytonstone.
“We sent resources including ambulance crews, a clinician in a response car, members of our Hazardous Areas Response team and London’s air ambulance.
“We treated three patients and took one to a London major trauma centre. Two people were discharged at the scene.”
