Hi Wok, which serves bubble tea alongside dishes such as sweet and sour chicken, chilli beef, and stir fry beans, opened up on Wednesday, 25th March

Local business, Hi Wok, is bringing Chinese to-go boxes to CRATE Walthamstow. The new street food vendor arrived at CRATE Walthamstow on Wednesday, 25th March.
An American style fast food restaurant chain specialising in Chinese fast food, Hi Wok launched in 2015 at Camden Town Market. It also operates from other locations including Edmonton Green Shopping Centre, Stratford Shopping Centre and Kingsland High Street in Dalston.
Blending American and Chinese cuisine, popular dishes include Sweet & Sour Chicken, Beijing Beef, Grilled Teriyaki Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken. It also serves premium, 100% authentic Taiwanese bubble tea.
Owner, Lanyun Lin, has been hoping to further expand the family business for some time. She explains: “We’re thrilled to open at CRATE and are very grateful for this amazing opportunity. We live nearby in Leyton and always bring our children to 17 & Central. We love shopping at the Centre and supporting other local businesses.”
To celebrate its launch at CRATE, Hi Wok offered all customers 50% off all dishes purchased on Wednesday, 25th March.
Commenting on the arrival of Hi Wok, 17 & Central’s Centre Manager, Gavin Cockayne, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Hi Wok to 17 & Central.
“Oriental cuisine has always been a favourite here, and Hi Wok brings a fresh approach that really resonates with our community. Their menu and pricing are perfectly suited to our visitors, and with their proven success at other locations, we’re confident they’ll be a fantastic addition. This launch expands the diversity of our food hall and gives shoppers even more delicious options to enjoy.”
