‘Sunshine On The Water’ will be on display at the Engine House from Monday 25th August through to Sunday 28th September

A brand new exhibition at the Engine House in the Walthamstow Wetlands will explore the “cradle of life and environmental preservation”.
Called Sunshine On The Water, the exhibition will feature the works of three UK-based international artists, Pik Cheng, Kin Wong and Eunjung Kim.
Like the transient waterbirds who migrate from wetlands along the East Asian and Australian Flyway, the artists migrated from East Asia to the UK.
Their artworks are therefore informed by their diasporic experiences and synthesize both Eastern and Western aesthetics.
Pik Cheng adopts a “psycho-geographical” approach to his art, walking in the scrubland and along the waterfront to explore how “emotions are entangled with nature”, while Kin Wong depicts the vibrancy of urban life alongside the natural world.
Meanwhile, Eunjung Kim’s work visualises the quiet rhythm of nature through botanical art, capturing the movement of plants.
The exhibition is open to the public from Monday, 25th August to Sunday, 28th September.
On Sunday 21st September 2025, from 1pm to 3pm, the public is invited to come and try some drawing, with coaching from the artists, at a free drop-in session at the Engine House, Walthamstow Wetlands. No previous drawing experience needed, and families are welcome.
