Massa Britton’s pet parrot Ozzy escaped and flew from her Pevensey Road home in Forest Gate on Saturday evening, reports Marco Marcelline

A Cann Hall family is appealing to local residents after their beloved pet parrot went missing this weekend.
Massa Britton’s parrot Ozzy escaped and flew from her Pevensey Road home on Saturday (26th July) at around 7.15pm.
Saying that she and her children were “very upset” to have lost him, Massa said she briefly saw him flying past their garden in the early hours of Sunday (27th July), towards the direction of Dames Road and Wanstead Flats.
She told the Echo: “He escaped whilst my fiancé Paul and I were spending time getting fresh air with him in the garden. Ozzy is usually a lively, curious, active and very noisy bird but he may be quieter in these unfamiliar circumstances and will be vulnerable having been a domestic bird from birth.
“He spends the majority of time in the house: he and his favourite human, my fiancé Paul, have lived here together since Ozzy was hatched. It’s possible that he’s hiding in a bush or behind a shed somewhere.”

Stating that Ozzy likes children and has lived happily with pet dogs and cats in the past but, not being one for cuddles, Massa said he “can be nervous around strangers”, and only lets Paul pet him.
She added: “He loves eating apples, carrots, grapes and shelled monkey nuts and he’s partial to the occasional cheeky chunky chip or Dorito!
“My fiancé, my kids and I are very upset right now at losing him and want him home. The family isn’t complete without him.
“If any readers spot Ozzy please get in touch with us- we’re desperate to have him back home in his usual spot presiding over us all in the bay window in our living room!”
If you spot or find Ozzy please call or text Paul on 07398 590246 or email [email protected]
