New Leyton leisure centre to officially open on Thursday

The New Score Centre in Leyton’s Coronation Square will open on Thursday 28th November, with free classes running from 1pm to 4pm

Local residents have been invited to the grand opening of a new leisure centre in Leyton’s Coronation Square next Thursday (28th November) from 1pm to 4pm.

During the opening, The New Score Centre, near the Score Centre on Oliver Road, will be running a tour, free taster sessions such as a social pickleball and body conditioning, and the London Pulse HUB pr tour the leisure centre, take part in free taster sessions such as social Pickleball and Body Conditioning, and watch an athletics tournament.

No booking is required for any of these events, with residents asked to simply turn up on the day.

The original Score Centre is open every day from 9am to 9pm. It is home to five basketball courts (which can also accommodate 20 badminton courts) and runs pickleball, netball, indoor futsal in partnership with local and national clubs.

There’s additionally two fitness class studios which host a timetable of upbeat classes in the main studio as well as a “calm studio” where mind and body classes are held. The centre also has community rooms available for hire.

Meanwhile, this weekend is the Better Leisure Centres Open Weekend, so you can try out the New Score Centre – and every other Better Leisure Centre in Waltham Forest – for free, from swimming to fitness classes. You can claim your free pass and see what’s on here.
